THE UNIVERSAL MUSLIM ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA CONVENTION VISITOR CODE OF CONDUCT
This convention is operated by The Universal Muslim Association of America. This ‘Terms of Usage Agreement’ (“Agreement”) informs visitors of the rules and policies that govern this convention. We use the general term “visitors” to include both registered attendees of our convention and any other person that attends the Convention in any capacity, such as for events open to the public, speakers, staff, volunteers, and any other individual physically in attendance at the convention at any point for any amount of time. Visitors are expected to follow any posted guidelines or rules. We may update this Agreement from time to time without notice and will post all changes prominently. All visitors have the obligation to review changes in this Agreement. Unless otherwise specified, such changes shall be effective when they are posted. Your use of this convention and registration for the convention activities constitutes your agreement to be bound by this Agreement.
Your privacy when visiting our convention is of the utmost importance to us. To participate in our convention, we may request that you submit certain personally identifiable information about yourself, including your name and personal contact information (“personal information”). We may also gather certain types of non-personal information about your visit to protect the security of our members and the site, and to make our program content more enjoyable for all our visitors. All personal information gathered from visitors by this convention will be governed by our privacy policies which are incorporated in this Terms of Usage Agreement by reference.
Visitors are responsible for providing accurate, timely and complete information to us and our operational providers, agents and affiliates in connection with a visitor’s participation in the convention. The Universal Muslim Association of America is not liable or responsible for any claims relating to any inaccurate, untimely, false or incomplete information provided to us.
Registration of the convention results in the automatic grant of a one year membership in the Universal Muslim Association of America that will expire at the next convention or within 365 days (whichever comes first). You must be eighteen years of age (18) or older to be a member of The Universal Muslim Association of America.
For convention activities that request personal information, you agree to provide accurate and current information about yourself. Your membership and/or participation in our convention activities will be canceled without notice if, at any time, we discover that you provide false information, or violate any term of this Agreement or our Privacy Policies. If necessary, and in accordance with applicable law, The Universal Muslim Association of America will cooperate with local, state and/or federal authorities to protect our convention, visitors, parents, partners, affiliates, subsidiaries and operational providers or to prevent unauthorized use of the site.
This convention contains materials supplied by The Universal Muslim Association of America and is protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets, or other proprietary rights and laws. Except as expressly authorized by The Universal Muslim Association of America, visitors may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, license, rent, publicly display or perform, edit, adapt or create a derivative work of, in any manner, any material or content obtained from the convention, including video, audio, or pictures taken during the convention (“Material”).
Use of the Material for any purpose not expressly permitted in this Agreement is prohibited. As noted above, reproduction, copying, or redistribution for commercial purposes of the Material or design elements on this site is also strictly prohibited without the express written permission of The Universal Muslim Association of America. Visitors represent and warrant that they are the owner or otherwise have the right to provide any information or materials (including pre-existing materials) that they post or transmit for use in public areas or events at the convention. Visitors hereby grant The Universal Muslim Association of America, its parents, affiliates, and subsidiaries an irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive worldwide license to use, copy, display, modify, edit, and create derivative works from and distribute any information or materials that visitors post in public areas.
Material at the convention may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. We have the right to make changes and update any information contained on this server without prior notice.
E-mail is an important communication method for our online visitors. The person in whose name the e-mail account is registered should generate all e-mail sent to us. E-mail users shall not mask their identity by using a false name or another person’s name or account. We will use your e-mail address and the content of any e-mail for correspondence and visitor response purposes and to send you information that you may request.
Any information you provide to us by e-mail or by registration, including, but not limited to, feedback, data, answers, questions, comments, suggestions, plans, ideas or the like, shall be deemed to be non-confidential and we assume no obligation to protect any information contained in the e-mail from accidental or inadvertent disclosure. Any personal information transmitted with an e-mail, such as e-mail or home addresses, and the sender’s name, will be protected in accordance with the policies set forth in our Privacy Policies, which can be obtained by written request sent to our office address listed above.
By participating in any of the aforementioned activities, all visitors and members agree to follow The Universal Muslim Association of America’s code of conduct. The Universal Muslim Association of America reserves the right to revoke, suspend or otherwise terminate the membership of any individual for any reason at any time, without notice.

The Universal Muslim Association of America may also revoke, terminate or suspend access to the Convention, or membership within the organization, for conduct that we believe interferes with other peoples’ enjoyment or is possibly in violation with any local, state, and/or federal law. The Universal Muslim Association of America will cooperate with local, state, and/or federal authorities if necessary, and in accordance with applicable law.
We do our best to encourage comfort and discourage disruptive communication. We also discourage disruptive statements or behavior that incites others to violate our standards. We encourage your participation in upholding our standards. You are responsible for all of your own behavior at all times. You are also responsible for the behavior of your co-registrants if you utilize the family registration option.
You agree not to use the this convention to make available any content, or engage in any behavior, that: is unlawful, harmful to adults or minors, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable; or infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any person; or contains unauthorized advertising or solicits other visitors; or is intended by the visitor to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality or integrity of any computer software, hardware or Materials on this convention.
We ask that you treat others with respect and care. Any conduct by a participant in the convention that violates this Agreement in any way may result in the revocation, suspension or termination of the visitor’s registration and access to the convention, at The Universal Muslim Association of America’s sole discretion, in addition to any other remedies.
The Universal Muslim Association of America may provide events, speeches, seminars, and workshops on a number of topics, but our staff or volunteer hosts participating in these activities do not offer professional advice of any kind and are speaking from their own experience or opinion as is helpful for the facilitation of the dialogue. These hosts claim no professional expertise or authority.
The INFORMATION ON OUR CONVENTION IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” The Universal Muslim Association of America DOES NOT WARRANT, EITHER EXPRESSLY OR BY IMPLICATION, the ACCURACY OF ANY MATERIALS PROVIDED ON the SITE OR THEIR SUITABILITY FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. although the INFORMATION PROVIDED TO YOU at the convention IS OBTAINED OR COMPILED FROM SOURCES WE BELIEVE TO BE RELIABLE, THE UNIVERSAL MUSLIM ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA CANNOT AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE the ACCURACY, VALIDITY, TIMELINESS OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION OR DATA MADE AVAILABLE TO YOU OR ITS SUITABILITY FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
The Universal Muslim Association of America IS NOT LIABLE NOR SHALL HAVE RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY KIND FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE that YOU INCUR IN the EVENT OF (I) ANY FAILURE OR INTERRUPTION of services or events at the convention, (II) ANY ACT OR OMISSION OF ANY third PARTY at the convention, (III) ANY OTHER CAUSE RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO, INABILITY TO ACCESS, USE OR PARTICIPATION at the convention (IV) OR FROM ANY VISITOR’S INTERACTION OR SUBMISSIONS at the CONVENTION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DIALOG BETWEEN HOSTS, WHETHER OR NOT the CIRCUMSTANCES GIVING RISE TO SUCH CAUSE MAY HAVE BEEN WITHIN the CONTROL OF The Universal Muslim Association of America. IN NO EVENT WILL The Universal Muslim Association of America BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR ANY OTHER LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND EVEN IF The Universal Muslim Association of America HAS BEEN ADVISED OF the POSSIBILITY THEREOF.
Please be advised that once you leave our convention, your use of the Internet will be governed by the terms of usage agreements and privacy policies, if any, of the particular site that you are accessing, including those of our operational providers, advertisers, sponsors, and promotional partners. The Universal Muslim Association of America will not be responsible or liable for the content, activities or privacy practices on the other sites, or any loss or damage that could result from leaving our convention.
YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY DISPUTE WITH US OR OUR LICENSORS, SPONSORS, OR PARTNERS IS THE CANCELATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE OR OUR LICENSORS, SPONSORS, OR PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE AND THE SERVICES. THESE EXCLUSIONS APPLY TO ANY CLAIMS FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, EVEN IF WE KNEW OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE SOME STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, IN SUCH STATES OR JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY, AND THE LIABILITY OF OUR LICENSORS, SPONSORS, OR PARTNERS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUT IN NO EVENT SHALL EXCEED $1,000.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our employees, contractors, officers, directors, agents, parent, other affiliated companies, licensors, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and suppliers, from all liabilities, claims, and expenses, including attorney’s fees, that arise from your registration and/or attendance in the convention. We reserve the right to assume control of the defense of any third party claim that is subject to indemnification by you, in which event you will cooperate with us in asserting any available defenses.
These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Maryland, U.S.A. These Terms, at our option, may be enforced against you in the state or federal courts of Maryland, the courts of the country in which you reside, or any other appropriate jurisdiction, or concurrently in more than one jurisdiction.
You expressly agree that the exclusive jurisdiction for any claim or action, that you may file, arising out of or relating, to this Agreement, the convention, or your use of this website shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Maryland. You further agree and submit to the exercise of personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purpose of litigating any such claim or action, whether filed by you or the Universal Muslim Association of America.
Any claim or controversy arising out of or related to this Agreement, or any breach thereof, that interferes with the conduct of the business shall, upon the request of The Universal Muslim Association of America, be submitted to and settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association then in effect. Any decision made pursuant to such arbitration shall be binding and conclusive upon the parties and judgment upon such decision may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
We may assign this contract at any time to our parent, any subsidiary, or any affiliated company, or as part of the sale to, merger with, or other transfer of our company to another entity. We will post a notice on our website regarding any change of ownership so that you have the opportunity to discontinue your use of the Site or cancel your registration if you do not wish to continue to use the Site and Services under the new ownership. You may not assign this contract to anyone else.
The headings herein are inserted as a matter of convenience only and do not define, limit, or describe the scope of this Agreement or the intent of the provisions hereof.
This Agreement is binding upon, and inures to the benefit of, the parties hereto and their respective heirs, executors, administrators, personal and legal representatives, successors, and assigns.
Each provision of this Agreement shall be considered separable and if, for any reason, any provision or provisions herein are determined to be invalid and contrary to any existing or future law, such invalidity shall not impair the operation of or affect those portions of this Agreement which are valid.
